CHRISTIAN COMMITMENT: If you wish to accept the Lord as your personal savior, renew your commitment to Jesus Christ or become a member of Genesee Baptist Church, there are two ways you may do so. You may join the pastor during the Hymn of Invitation, or you may speak with one of the pastors at the close of the service. Pastor’s classes for those interested in church membership are held on the Tuesday after the second Sunday of each month or upon special request. Call or email the church office if you plan to attend.

 

PRAYER REQUESTS: During the Offering, please place prayer requests in the white basket rather than in the offering plates.

lower level.

 

SUNDAY SCHOOL:  Our children and youth must be supervised when they are in the church building.  Prior to the “Time for Youth,” they are to be seated in the sanctuary with their responsible adults (parents, grandparents, adult relatives or other responsible adults).  After the “Time for Youth,” children and youth shall follow the directions of Sunday school teachers and assistants.  Remember, “it takes a village.”  We thank you for your support.

 

BIBLE STUDY takes place on Wednesdays in the study. Lesson is based on scripture Genesis 4:1-16.

“Bring a Friend Sunday” takes place on November 18. Be sure to mark it on your calendar and invite a friend or family member who typically doesn’t attend church, to come with you! We will welcome and recognize our Rochester City Official friends and First Responders on Nov. 18 as well.

There will be a carry-in dinner following worship that day. Please look for the sign-up sheet and sign up for what you plan to bring, for food planning purposes. Thank you!

 

New Fundraiser! We are planning a vintage Wedding Gown Fashion Show Fund Raiser for Saturday, April 27, 2019.  Please see or call Liz Eng (585-235-4559) if you are able to help. We’ll need gowns, models, support volunteers and much more. All assistance is welcome!

The Technology Committee is excited to be working to make our services more available to our sick and shut in members, and to other worshippers who may be moved and brought closer to Christ. The services will be published in various venues, including Facebook and our website.  Please check it out! If you are on Facebook, make sure that you “Like” our page, easily found by searching for Genesee Baptist Church by name.

CHRISTMAS EVE CANDELIGHT SERVICE Genesee Baptist Church will share Christmas Eve Candlelight worship service with Trinity Emmanuel Presbyterian Church (9 Shelter Street, Rochester, New York) on Monday evening, December 24th.  We thank Reverend Julius D. Jackson and Trinity Emmanuel for hosting us!  Please mark your calendars accordingly.

ALL MEMBERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE IN A BRIEF SURVEY about our church during this time of transition. It only takes a few minutes and can easily be done on line at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/3Z6H8C6. You may complete the survey anytime between now and Thanksgiving.

TODAY,  Dr. Ruth Scott will be hosting a forum immediately following worship. She will be helping us think about our church in this time of transition.

To assist in the discussion, she hopes that each of us will have completed a very short (about 5 minutes) survey to get a better understanding of our thoughts on this matter.

The Men’s Ministry will host a Breakfast Fundraiser for the Jerry Fund on Saturday, October 27, 2018, from 8 – 10 AM. Please see James Dorsey after service for tickets.  Ticket donation is $10 Adult and $7 for children under 12.  We are hoping all members will support this commendable event.

American Baptist Men’s Sunday IS TODAY  American Baptist Men’s 2018 theme is “How to be the Hands and Feet of Christ,”  based on Matthew 25: 40  We thank the Men’s Ministry and all the participating men of Genesee Baptist for being part of worship today.

Men’s Ministry HAS askED ALL of Genesee preschool, elementary, junior, and senior high school students to attend today’s service for a special gift from the Men’s Ministry.

Everyone who has keys to the church needs to report that to Debbie Stamps. We are taking inventory of the keys and arranging for security access. It is important that you do this ASAP. The alarm system will be activated Oct. 1, 2018. So everyone who needs to have access, must make arrangements with Dr. Stamps well before that time.

 

THE OCTOBER ANNUAL BREAST CANCER SEMINAR at Locust Hill will be Oct. 10, 2018. Cost is $25. If you would like to attend, please see Toni Phelps after worship today.

WELCOME! We extend a cordial welcome to all who are visiting with us this morning. We hope you will find both inspiring worship and a warm welcome at Genesee Baptist Church.

 

CHRISTIAN COMMITMENT: If you wish to accept the Lord as your personal savior, renew your commitment to Jesus Christ or become a member of Genesee Baptist Church, there are two ways you may do so. You may join the pastor during the Hymn of Invitation, or you may speak with one of the pastors at the close of the service. Pastor’s classes for those interested in church membership are held on the Tuesday after the second Sunday of each month or upon special request. Call or email the church office if you plan to attend.

 

PRAYER REQUESTS: During the Offering, please place prayer requests in the white basket rather than in the offering plates.

ALL ARE WELCOME TO JOIN IN THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL Sunday mornings 8-8:45 am, led by Minister Joyce Newton. The group meets in the conference room in the

lower level.

 

SUNDAY SCHOOL:  Classes begin today following the “Time for Youth.”  Our children and youth must be supervised when they are in the church building.  Prior to the “Time for Youth,” they are to be seated in the sanctuary with their responsible adults (parents, grandparents, adult relatives or other responsible adults).  After the “Time for Youth,” children and youth shall follow the directions of Sunday school teachers and assistants.  Remember, “it takes a village.”  We thank you for your support.

 

COPIES OF: “The Secret Place” are available on the credenza for a small donation.

The alarm system will be activated Oct. 1, 2018. So everyone who needs to have access, must make arrangements with Dr. Stamps well before that time.

 

THE OCTOBER ANNUAL BREAST CANCER SEMINAR at Locust Hill will be Oct. 10, 2018. Cost is $25. If you would like to attend, please see Toni Phelps after worship today.

American Baptist Men’s Sunday will be on October 14th, 2018.  American Baptist Men’s 2018 theme is “How to be the Hands and Feet of Christ,”  based on Matthew 25: 40  The ministry is asking all the men of Genesee Baptist to be a part of the worship celebration.  

Men’s Ministry is asking ALL of Genesee preschool, elementary, junior, and senior high school students attend service on October 14th for a special gift from the Men’s Ministry.

The Men’s Ministry will host a Breakfast Fundraiser for the Jerry Fund on Saturday, October 27, 2018, from 8 – 10 AM. Please see Fred Fowler, James Dorsey or Rev. Steven Wilson if you would like to volunteer to make the fundraiser a success.

 

TODAY IS Dollar Sunday IS in memory of Arlene Walker Steed. We are asking everyone to give one dollar in memory of Arlene. There will be a special offering for this.
