Emily will be missed, and long remembered as a true friend and faithful christian who loved and supported Genesee Baptist Church. She treated people in a way that's an example for us all to emulate. I feel blessed to have known her and blessed to know her family.

Emily will be missed, not just for her welcoming smile, or her bountiful breakfasts, or her fantastic pies, but for her enduring presence as a vibrant and loving member of our family here at Genesee. I am so pleased to have come back home to spend some time with her.

Where do we begin...the homemade pies, the brownies, the cookies... the receiving of cards and generous gifts from Halloween to Valentine's Day to birthdays... or the many joyful lunches (always with gift bags for the children to keep them entertained!)... Emily was a true Blessing from God to our family. She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten in our hearts. She was our "angel", my children's "adopted" grandmother, and a loving, caring friend. Her famous saying "Oh, Good Night, Nurse", has now been changed to "Oh, Good Night, Ms. Emily". May she rest in peace. With all our love, David, Debbie, Marley, Elijah and Cory Jarvis

Emily was one of the first people to welcome me to Genesee Baptist Church. She was always ready with a smile and a story. Her faith and dedication was and still is an inspiration to me. And oh- those pies! Sean Henderson

I have known Emily since becoming a member of Genesee Baptist Church.I have been constantly amazed at her dedication to Genesee. She has been a pillar of strength and a great example for others to emulate. Her love and dedication have been passed on to children William and Gayle, who are actively involved in the church. When Pastor Vera anonounced her passing in church on Sunday, the collective sigh of grief by the congrgation could be heard a block away...she was loved by all. I'll also remember Emily's style and grace, including those beautiful hats she'd wear. I'll miss looking across the isle and seeing her there with Gayle on Sunday mornings. Emily fought the good fight, she kept the faith and finished the course. She will be deeply missed. Allan Nisbeth
