                      ARISE!!!

But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence. (John 14:31 KJV)

On Easter Sunday morning I have chosen to preach on the Sermonic topic, “Arise.” Since there will be those who will not be able to attend, I want to share a few thoughts on how and why I have chosen this topic for Easter Sunday.

This sermon was inspired by Rev. Lois Golbourne and Rev. Lawrence Hargrave. On March 14^th Rev. Hargrave preached on “Forgiveness.” His text was taken from the parable of the Prodigal Son. (Luke 15: 11-24). I remember the portion of scripture in which the son said, “I will arise and go to my father.” Then later in the scripture the father said, “MY son dead, and is alive again.”

Then, on March 21^st, Rev. Golbourne preached on the topic “Who Touched Me?” She shared how Jairus’s daughter was thought to be dead. But Jesus touched her and said, “Daughter Arise.”

After hearing both these sermons, the Easter message became very clear to me. Perhaps it was the anointing of the Spirit that sent this message. It became clear that there were those in the days of Jesus who were dead or thought to be dead but had a second chance on life.

Perhaps you are in this state in some way as you read this Tower Talk message. It may not be a physical death; but an emotional death, or maybe a mental death, or a financial death, or even a drug addicted death. This is the Easter message. Regardless of your situation, “Arise,” for there is a new life waiting for you.
